Redmi Note 9 Pro Review & Full Specifications

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro

Today we gonna be reviewing the Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphone,
there's a recurring theme with the Redmi Note 9 Pro which is basically bigger a lot of things are bigger and this also applies to a screen which is now a 6.67 inch full HD plus punch hole display with a centered camera. Redmi Note 9 pro also features 5200 mAh battery with the Snapdragon 720G processor.

■Redmi Note 9 Pro Design and Display

6.67 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display used in redmi note 9 pro. Camera cutout is definitely the most elegant looking solution so far on a note series
device as far as notches are concerned and also the least distracting when it comes to watching content on it.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Camera

You can hide it as well if you require. The display is definitely a step in the right direction and borrows the high brightness and much improved sunlight legibility from sister companies poco x2. Which are welcome changes but a 90-year
screen would have definitely been nice and I personally fall into the camp of folks who can tell apart a regular 60 Hertz screen from a 90 Hertz a higher refresh rate screen. If you don't fall into that camp then consider yourself lucky and there will be nothing for you to complain about at all our aspect ratio of 20 is 2 9 feels fine and helps in the handling for sure considering the larger display size.As well the order design language follows but it has evolved into something that's more premium feeling the note II Pro felt great.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Fingerprint (Side-Mounted)

If you think of the changes that have made made since their note 7 Pro it's quite big but the redmi note 9 Pro is the best yet and while it doesn't look and feel as rounded as the note 8 pro it has more of a flat of back profile with curved edges. I think the pillow style design felt good back then but  this definitely feels even better and a step in the right direction this is also Corning Gorilla Glass 5 all around at the front of the display at the back and even protecting the camera module.

■Redmi Note 9 Pro Camera

There is a primary camera on the phone with an ultra wide camera and a macro camera, also dept sensor which I dont even care for. The primary sensor is 48 megapixel and the pixel binning can produce 1.6 micrometer pixels sized images. So the low-light capabilities of the phone should be good. Let's start with daylight pictures first as the day comes before the night and night comes after the day but there's evening somewhere in between of them. This first shot was taken from primary camera with auto HDR on the processing on the cropped area of the picture looks a little heavy but no major complaints here.

This picture was taken at 2x zoom and the cropped shot the details suffered massively as compared to the standard lens shot. It however loses the extra processing of saturation over the picture. The ultra wide shot is just fine like many other phones but the overall dynamic range is maintained well on the shot.  Be my guest and judge the shot yourself. But then as we know the sun also knows how to drive itself so instead of going up and decided to move towards right as it was really loving being shot at. But yeah this is just another example of how the color profiles of all three shots varies. We have already noticed that in each and every shot the levels of color processing changes heavily ,the standard lens short was most vibrant and bright and as we reached the ultra wide shot it became a little dull.

The macro shot was impressive though the processing on this one didn't feel too harsh. A job well done by the sensor. This shot, shows how decent the quality of macro shots are from the sensor.Don't expect flagship grade quality and processing but it isn't bad. Also the flash actually helped retain more details in this case. The front camera was great but it did show signs of over processing all over it. I mean the sharpness on the cropped image isn't natural but it's fine nonetheless. We also notice as soon as I change the portrayed mode on the front camera the skies just flipped to being white rather than blue but then then I moved a bit and took the shot again they were blue again. So I told the sky to quit playing games with my heart and its color correction. Here are some video samples from the phone. This is how the video quality is at ultra wide and right now personally believe that the stabilization is quite epic.
It's really good. This is how the video quality is at the standard lens at 4k resolution.

The stabilization is fine. I think the ultra-right was looking quite more stable because it being electrified sensor and this is how the video quality is at 2x. I think when you are at 2x more you can't really change modes between any of the previous examples I just shared. This is how the video quality is from the front camera at Full HD 30fps it only has 720p 30fps and 1080p 30fps the quality of mic was actually pretty good. I was impressed by it and having a 4k capable camera on the phone isn't a bad thing to have - unless you have not experienced editing 4k videos on a five-years-old machine. The slow-mo shots were actually impressive as you can see here the 120 fps can take 1080p footage but the 240 and 960 fps can only take it at 720p. Also at 960 FPS the phone will automatically decide when to initiate the slow-mo framing at the end of the clip automatically and you can't really customize that later. It was not completely dark yet but I took some more shots to test the camera. Under more extreme low-light conditions this bulb just aced it by saying fu I ain't dark myself. But I gotta be honest I was so impressed with this close-up shot. This shot was also quite good but the night mode on the right was more sharper than the standard mode shot. The night mode also helped in achieving a decent shot here. The ultra white being ultra wide took a poor picture in this comparison. The 2x zoom was definitely better than the ultra wide. When I took 720p shots in low light they were quite impressive in terms of quality. Well that was a lot of work. So overall I am really impressed with all the cameras.

■Redmi Note 9 Pro OS and Hardware

The redmi note 9 Pro does bring in a new chipset but it isn't exactly an upgrade. The phone comes with the new Snapdragon 720G chipset with up to 6 gb ram 128 gb storage.  Now snapdragon 720G is a fairly powerful chipset but it isn't exactly an upgrade over the g9 TT. I mean just check out the benchmark scores. So yeah the 720 G is good but not exactly an update having said that the real world performance is what actually matters and that's an area where I'm fairly positive about the redmi note 9 Pro. I've been using this phone and when the performance has been smooth plus the 720 G handles games just fine. I mean you can play PUBG mobile without lags becose it runs very smooth. This is another point where the Note 9 Pro does well. It ran all the games we tested at 60 fps including Call Of Duty and PUBG. Even Asphalt 9, which runs at 30 fps on the vast majority of Android phones, delivered smooth 60 fps here.

The redmi note 9 Pro has the mi UI 11 based on Android 10.

■Redmi Note 9 Pro Battery

The largest battery capacity that has ever been featured on our series device 5020 mAh to be exact and couple that with the new 8 nm chipset and you would expect stellar battery life and that's exactly what you get you get 2 days of use even for heavy users. If you want to know the SOT you are looking at well over 10 hours of usage, in my experience I got over 11 hours based on my regular schedule. The battery charge is over 2 USB type-c and a maximum of 18 watt widths a bundle charger matches as well. Overall like I said the focus is on bigger bigger faster and better and while some of these changes may not seem like as big a jump on a spec sheet they actually translate to a fairly big improvement in terms of real-life usage experience.

■Our Verdict

Is it worth exchanging the Redmi Note 8 Pro for the 9 Pro? Performance hasn't evolved that much the biggest advantage is for the better set of cameras and the longer battery life and it recharges faster. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is a slightly improved version of the 9S, but it is expensive to do so. Its cost-benefit ratio is complicated, especially here in Bangladesh where you find several better and cheaper cell phones.

We like Redmi Note 9 pro for its display quality and its stylish design. Camera performance impressive. Also for its 5200mAh battery capacity and its strong Snapdragon 720G processor. It performs very well in day to day uses.Gaming performance also good ,we played PUBG mobile and it runs smoothly. In this price segment it is best for buying.
