To competitive in midrange-segment with Chinese company(Xiaomi , Realme ) recently tech giant Samsung launched Galaxy A50s,a successor to their Galaxy A50.

Who cares about picture quality.You will get great selfies.Well, actually, you will get softies.You will definitely win the beauty queen award with these selfies.And then the night mode.It is the best night mode in any phone.It takes so great photos that you will get confused whether night mode is better or the normal mode at night.
■Samsung Galaxy A50s Display and Design
It features 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super Amoled with infinity U shaped notch display.The display is very bright. Video watching experience is awesome though this device. Samsung's Super Amoled displays are the strongest feature of their smartphone.A50s display is topped with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for additional protection.
Glossy and reflective coating applied backside of the phone,which produce visually appealing hues of different colours.Back panel and frame made with plastic.
Galaxy A50s volume rocker and power on/off button is placed on the right edge while the SIM-card slot is present on the left edge.The bottom edge of the phone bears a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port and a speaker grill.
■Samsung Galaxy A50s Cameras
The primary new feature of this phone is its Triple Rear Camera (48MP primary +8MP ultra wide camera +5MP depth camera) with 32MP front camera.
We do get a new camera sensor.But Samsung played the pixel binning game here.So, basically, pictures are 12MP only unless you use the specific 48MP mode.Now, if you zoom in on any of the image, then you will see the reality of picture quality.25MP sensor on A50 takes better pictures than the 48MP sensor on A50s.

Coming to video recording,you get 4K but without stabilisation and video effects.And the stabilisation in Full HD is so great that you get jerky video.
■Samsung Galaxy A50s Operating System & Hardware
Previous version Galaxy A50 runs on the Exynos 9610,while A50s runs on the Exynos 9611.A50s slightly upgraded version of A50.As always, we ran the device through our usual benchmark.AnTuTu gave us a score of 1,53,213 while Geekbench 4's multi-core and single-core tests returned 5,390 and 1,620 respectively.We also got 488.29 MB/s (read) and 184.90 MB/s (write) in AndroBench.Thats why A50s slightly ahead of A50.But in this price segment Redmi K20 provides strong processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 730), which is better than A50s.
Galaxy A50s runs on Android 9 Pie with Samsung's One UI.The One UI which is installed in A50s is more updated than A50.
■Samsung Galaxy A50s Gaming Performance and Battery
Now talks about gaming performances of this device, PUBG MOBILE ran at its high settings by default .Recoil control of gun avarage, little bit lag also there.Graphics of game is awesome.After about 20 minutes of playing pubg mobile ,we found upper half of the rear of this device had become slightly warm .After playing a long time the device became more warm which was uncomfortable .Asphalt 9:Legends also ran very well and we didnt see any lag there and device didnt warm very quickly.
We do get 4000 mAh battery but the battery life is still average.This phone cannot really handle heavy users.The phone does come with USB type-c and 15W fast charger which is positive.
■Our Verdict
After using A50s we can say ,there isn't much difference between A50 and A50s.If you are like to watch movies and videos on phone ,you should buy this phone .Because its display is best.Also this phone is suitable for light users ,because its 4000mAh battery will not disappoint you.
If you are looking for a gaming phone, sorry to say this phone is not for you.Gaming performance is avarage on this device.
